Мета: розвинути навички читання з розумінням основної інформації; вдосконалити навички усного мовлення по темі «Прогрес і розвиток», фонетичні та лексичні навички.
Наочність та обладнання: крейдяні записи, картки для гри «Назви риму", підручник англійської мови Биболетова М.З. 10 клас.I. Організаційний момент

-I'm glad to see you, sit down, please. Who is on duty today? Who is absent?
Ok. What is the weather like today?
- The weather is sunny but windy. It's warm outside.

Let's play the game. Be active and try to remember as many English words on the topic "Civilisattion and progress" as you can.
(Вчитель називає слово по темі «Цивілізація і прогрес», учні повинні підібрати до нього риму).

III. Активізація навичок усного мовлення по темі "Прогрес і розвиток".
Open your books on page 100, look at exercise 44. You are to divide in groups of four and work with your partners.
(На роботу відводиться 3-4 хвилини. Після закінчення відведеного часу, представники кожної групи представляють свою ідею класу. Потім парна робота: упр.45 стор.10, учні обговорюють картинки на стр.100-101 і називають відкриття технічного прогресу, зображені на них. Вчитель організовує фронтальну перевірку даного вправи).

IV. Розвиток навичок читання з розумінням основної інформації.
I'd ask you to read the task of exercise 46, page 100-101. Your task is to read these extracts and check your guesses. You'll have 4 minutes to match the letters and the numbers. Is it clear? You may start.
(Завдання - співвіднести частини оповідання з картинками. Протягом 4 хвилин читають уривки, зіставляють з картинками, потім висловлюють свої припущення і учні читають весь текст вголос).

(Повторюється кілька разів з прискоренням темпу).

VI. Закріплення навичок читання.
The next task is 47, page 101. Look through the texts again and answer the questions. Who would like to read the first question and answer it?

Ex. 47 p. 101 Read the texts again in Ex. 46 and do the task.

VII. Вдосконалення навичок монологічної мови.
You can see that technological inventions influence people's life greatly. Next task you'll do in pairs: ex.48 p.102. Here is the questions:
1. Which paragraph is the most interesting to read? Which is the most boring? Why?
2. Which one is the most difficult to understand? Why do you think so?
3. Which of the paragraphs gives the most unusual information? Explain your choice.
You are to answer these questions in pairs. Don't forget to use your ideas!

VIII. Підведення підсумків уроку.
So, we can see that people have made a lot of important inventions. That bring us to the end.
